8 injured as NPP, NDC supporters clash over bus terminal

Supporters of the two party are said to be injured in the wake of the attack that also resulted in the destruction of properties.

Reports say the two parties clashed claiming ownership of who owns the Alaba bus station.

Some supporters of the NPP, according to reports were wielding offensive weapons, stormed the lorry station to take over the management of the facility in light of the victory of their party in the 2016 presidential elections, only to be met with fierce opposition from some armed supporters of the opposition.

It took Police reinforcement to clear the confusion and break up the violent attacks.

So far, eight persons have sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment at the Manhyia Government Hospital.

The Police have also retrieved a sack containing weapons.

The clash comes in after a similar incidents at some parts of the country, which the President has condemned attacks on supporters of the NDC by some alleged supporters of the NPP.
