NPP MPs call for probe into BOST activities dating back to 2009
Majority MPs say they want full scale investigations into the activities of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST) dating backing to 2009 after accusing former John Mahama and his Chief of Staff of receiving cash from BOST.

Addressing the press Friday, the acting Chairman of the Mines and Energy Committee, Emmanuel Akwesi Gyamfi, said BOST made some questionable payment to the presidency under the watch of former President John Mahama which requires investigations.
The minority MPs have accused the current BOST Managing Director, Mr Alfred Obeng, of corruption when he sold “contaminated oil” to Zup Oil and Movenpiina.

In a push back against the minority’s allegation, the majority MPs, led by Mr Gyamfi, said: “There are several commitments in which BOST made in 2016, especially between June 2016 and January 2017 which will require to be looked into again.
“Ladies and gentlemen, since 2015, BOST under the guide of secret transfers has transferred unexplained colossal amount of it between $2.5 to 3.5 million on bimonthly basis to the office of the President and the Chief of Staff, the last amount being 3 million which was transferred on January 30, 2017.
“It does appear there has been a lot of rot at BOST and for that reason, we agree that we require a high powered committee to investigate this and other related improprieties to determine the extent to which these affect and have affected the company, the economy and efficiency of BOST.

“And whether their operations are being managed in accordance with sound business principles and prudent commercial practice.

“Ladies and gentlemen, in the interest of probity and accountability, we call o government to institute probe into the activities of BOST since 2009.
