Chairman Womtumi is said to be the patron of the Pro-NPP vigilante group hence his summoning to the seat of government.
He is expected to explain what he knows about the attack which occurred in the region.
The group on Friday, 24 March stormed the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council to stop George Agyei, who has been appointed by President Nana Akufo-Addo as the regional security coordinator, from performing his duties.
They argued that they would not be able to work with Mr Agyei because he did not play an active role in the 2016 campaign that brought the NPP into power.
Police have arrested five persons in connection with the incident and charged them with conspiracy to assault, assaulting a public officer and causing unlawful damage.
In a related development Kwadwo Bamba, one of the leading members of the pro-New Patriotic Party militia group, Delta Force, has apologised to the president following last Friday’s assault on the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator.
