Transition Public must provide us vital information - Transition team

There have been some accusations and counter-accusations from both sides of the transition team. But the new spokesperson for the NPP transition team Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said important information from the public will bring such matters to rest.

The Transition team has called on members of the general public to assist them with important information that will facilitate a smooth handing over process.

The spokesperson for the New Patriotic Party’s Transition Team, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, made this appeal in an interview with Accra FM.

“The Transition Team is located at the Accra International Conference Centre, and, so, I will appeal to the public that if anybody has any idea or information, that person can make that information available to us. If we realise those information or concerns are not captured in the handing-over notes or reports, we will discuss with our colleagues on the other side.”

There have been some accusations and counter-accusations from both sides of the transition team.

The NPP team earlier accused the outgoing government of signing last-minute contracts and employments without their consent.

But the NDC responded saying some of the mentioned activities started before the general elections were held. They also asked the NPP to abrogate such contracts if they find any challenges with after January 7.

Subsequently, both teams agreed on the best way to deal with such upheavals.

The Member of Parliament-elect for the Ofoase Ayirebi constituency in the Eastern Region, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah will now serve as the new spokesperson for the New Patriotic Party’s transition team.

This was announced on Monday at a meeting of both transition teams of the incoming NPP and outgoing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Oppong Nkrumah replaces Mustapha Hamid who is also the spokesperson of the president-elect Nana Akufo-Addo.

Even though no reason was given for this decision pulse.com.gh gathered that Mustapha Hamid who is currently a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast in the Central Region needs to mark and grade papers of his students and also hand over properties of the University since he is likely to serve in the NPP government.
