Load shedding in Ghana will be to intensify in the coming days due to the reduction of power supply from The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) to Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

In an interview with starrfm The Director of Systems and Operations at GRIDCo Bernard Tawiah Modey, said the reduction of power supply from 600 megawatts to 300 megawatts is base on the shortfall in production is as a result of growing demand for power and reduction in generation for mandatory maintenance on its turbines.

The Public Relations Officer of ECG, William Boateng, said the management of ECG will meet with the management of GRIDCo to ascertain the reasons for current shortfall.

He added a final decision would be taken on the next step to take as the country is currently going through a load-shedding period due to the shortage in power supply.
