Pastor arrested for illegal connection

Michael Mensah has been charged on two counts of power theft and intentionally interfering with supply of electricity.

 

An Accra based pastor has been arrested for illegally connecting electricity to his church.

Founder of the Global Prayer Palace at East Legon, Michael Mensah denied the Electricity Company of Ghana close to 4,000 cedis through his action.

He has been charged on two counts of power theft and intentionally interfering with supply of electricity.

Manager for prosecutions at ECG, Paul Asibi Abariga told Starr News that culprits will be made to face the law.

Mr. Abariga added that the pastor has pleaded guilty to all the counts and has taken steps to re-pay the loan.

ECG has recovered over three million cedis since it begun an exercise in August to clamp down on the activities of persons involved in illegal connections.
