Desperate Nana Addo will contest again in 2020 – Twum Boafo

Twum Boafo said Nana Addo is desperate enough to contest the 2020 Presidential elections since defeat is staring him in the face ahead of the 2016 elections.

The Chief Executive of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Kojo Twum Boafo has asked Ghanaians to prepare for Nana Akufo-Addo’s fourth attempt at becoming President of Ghana.

He said the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) three-time flagbearer is desperate enough to contest the 2020 Presidential elections since defeat is staring him in the face ahead of the 2016 elections.

Contributing to a panel discussion on Radio Gold over the weekend, the Free Zones Board boss insisted that he will not be the least surprised if his prediction comes true in 2020.

“I will not be surprised if he [Nana Addo] shows up again for the 2020 elections by which time he will be 78 years old,” he said.

Some political commentators and some members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) have asserted that the NPP is making demands for a new voters’ register because they are afraid of losing the 2016 elections.

Some have stated that the country’s main opposition party is fully aware that the EC will not give in to their demands hence, the ploy to use the voters’ register as the perfect excuse should they lose the elections.

But the NPP on various occasions have insisted that the call for a new register is in the supreme interest of the nation.

However, Mr. Twum Boafo is convinced that Nana Addo “knows that he cannot win the next election; he knows that the next election will have to be his last but for now, I am very sure he sees this as his attempt to become President to which he feels he has a birth right to.”
