Residents In Fears As Youth Besiege Police Station

The cell break of seven prisoners has triggered chaos at Denu in the Volta Region.

Angry residents of Denu in the Ketu South Municipality besieged the Police Station demanding the release of a resident who was arrested for inciting the youth to protest.

According to a source, the gentleman who was arrested named Kabila was alleged to have received death threats from some suspected armed robbers who escaped from Police cells Friday dawn.

Kabila was one of several youth who helped arrest the suspected armed robbers and handed them to security authorities about four months ago.

During the protest they blocked roads and burnt tires in protest over the escape of the seven prisoners.
