Chief Executive Officer of the Asafo-Agyei hospital in Kumasi, Bishop Prof. Dr Asafo-Agyei Anane Frempong, has been installed an archbishop by the Rapha Faith International Ministerial Network (RFIMN).

Bishop Prof. Dr Asafo-Agyei is in charge of the Great Eternal Harvest International Ministry (GETHIM) as an overseer.

Historic day

It was a historic day at the GETHIM Auditorium in Kumasi last week as hundreds of people, including church leaders, traditional rulers and politicians, gathered to celebrate the installation of the new archbishop.

Notable among the dignitaries were Mr Peter Anarfi-Mensah, the Ashanti Regional Minister; Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua, the Omanhene of the Kumawu Traditional Area, and Mr Sampson Kwaku Boafo, a former Ashanti Regional Minister.

Accepting his new office, Bishop Prof. Dr Asafo-Agyei pledged to maintain and further the unity of the church, uphold its discipline and guard its faith.

Oath of office

Archbishop Kenneth McNatt from the USA, who administered the oath, reminded the newly installed archbishop of his duty to watch over and pray for all those committed to the growth of the church.

The day also saw the installation of Dr Augustine Shalom Segun-Lebi as Archbishop-designate of Nigeria for the RFIMN.

Regional minister

Mr Anarfi-Mensah lauded the achievements of the new archbishop as a medical practitioner and ordained man of God and urged all present to emulate a man worth celebrating.

Archbishop Prof. Dr Asafo-Agyei is well known in the Kumasi metropolis and across the world for his exploits in the medical field with the establishment of the Asafo-Agyei Hospital and the Great Eternal Harvest Ministry International at Daaban, Kumasi.

He is also known to have pioneered the non-surgical treatment of piles in the country.

The RFIMN is an umbrella body fostering unity and co-operation among independent Charismatic/Pentecostal churches.
