22-year-old law student wins Kwabre East Constituency NPP primaries

Ms Oteng-Mensah beat the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency, Kofi Frempong.

 

A 22-year-old second-year law student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Francisca Oteng-Mensah, has won the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the Kwabre East Constituency in the Ashanti Region.

Ms. Oteng-Mensah pulled 321 votes while the incumbent Member of Parliament, Kofi Frempong had 187 votes. Lawyer Osei-Poku obtained 202 and K Adjei- Sefa got 33 votes.

Reports suggests that she is the daughter of Dr Kwaku Oteng, CEO of Angel Group of Companies.

The NPP is electing parliamentary candidates for the 2016 elections.
