“Akufo-Addo has no shame” – Omane Boama

His comments came in the wake of Nana Addo’s statement that there has not been any word on the investigations into the shooting and killing of the Nkwanta South District Chief Executive (DCE) which happened six months ago.

Communications minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah says the 2016 flag-bearer of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, is a man with no “shame”.

According to Nana Addo who was addressing the media on the internal bickering in the NPP, “criminal activities with political undertones in this country have tended not to be resolved satisfactorily”. Despite, Nana Addo urged the law enforcement agencies to investigate thoroughly into the killing of the party’s Upper East regional chairman, Adams Mahama.

“I acknowledge and appreciate the sentiments expressed by the President of the Republic with the promise that justice will be done to Chairman Adams and we intend to hold him to that promise. It is unfortunate, but true, that criminal activities with political undertones in this country have tended not to be resolved satisfactorily. The latest example of this is the shooting and killing of the Nkwanta South DCE some six months ago. It does not engender public confidence that, up to today, there has been no word on the investigations into that crime. We shall not be satisfied with anything less than the arrest and successful prosecution of the killers of Chairman Adams. There should be no ifs and buts”, Nana Addo said.

But Dr. Omane Boama in a Facebook post said the flag-bearer should rather be grateful to the security agencies for being professional with crime related issues.

“Nana Akuffo Addo has no shame. He should be grateful to the security Agencies for ensuring sanity within the ranks of the New Patriotic Party in Bolga, Accra and across the country. I urge the security agencies to continue with their work professionally, as they have exhibited over the period”, he noted.

In a later interview with Joy News, Dr. Omane Boama stated that if Nana Addo wants information on the murder of the Nkwanta South District Chief Executive in November last year, he should go to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Police.

"As a responsible citizen, a senior citizen, if you want to know how far the criminal investigation department has travelled with respect to investigations into the issue relating to the Nkwanta South DCE, I am very sure he knows where to find that information”, he said
