This is what President Mahama's 8 year old daughter told him following the death of his mother

In a tweet, shortly after a private Islamic ceremony for Madam Abiba Nnaba, the president said the message from his young daughter made him smile at such a difficult time.

Farida, who is eight years old, told her father; "Smile! You lost your mother, but you have me."

The message from the young Mahama to reassure the president and present a picture of hope, is a break away from the fairly rigid messages of condolence sent by older people.

Among those who have been sending their condolences have been former presidents Jerry Rawlings and John Kufour; NPP presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo and Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan.

Aside the passing away of his mother, the President Mahama has had to deal with a growing controversy after it was revealed that a contractor who has won a number of government contracts gave the president a car; as a gift.

Abiba Nnaba, born 1931, will be buried in Bunusu in West Gonja on Friday.
