I never presented a University of Ghana document to party vetting committee - Nii Noi Nortey fumes

His comments came in the wake of reports that one Joshua Rockson, has petitioned the Commissioner of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) challenging the authenticity of the certificate Nii Nortey allegedly earned from the University of Ghana.

A New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary aspirant in the Korle Klottey constituency, Nii Noi Nortey has vehemently refuted claims that he presented a fake University of Ghana certificate to the party’s Vetting Committee.

Speaking on Eyewitness News, Nortey said the accusations are false.

“I haven’t discussed or submitted any University of Ghana document to anybody or individual…it’s a personal document I submitted to the NPP’s Vetting Committee so if they wish to make claims or open up any issue on the form, so be it before I can answer… I have gone through vetting, I have been cleared to contest. Those allegations are false.”

Adding, “The matters are pending before the National Appeals committee. It will be wrong for me to be making comments before appearing before the committee. So I’m telling you that after the Appeals Committee they will bring out their verdict and you will know whether I attended the University of Ghana or not.”

He was the NPP Korle Klottey Constituency Chairman who resigned few days back to contest in the parliamentary primaries.
