He made this known following threats by teachers unions of a strike should government fail to pay them their outstanding arrears by February 29, 2016.
Government had earlier agreed with NAGRAT to pay the outstanding salary arrears, car maintenance allowances and transfer grants by June 13, 2015.
But NAGRAT said that government has failed to meet the deadline of payment, adding that they will no longer accept any roadmap for payment.
In an interview with Accra-based Joy FM, Labour Minister, Haruna Iddrisu said government is committed to the road map which will enable the Auditor General go through the validation process for the monies to be paid.
"There is a new policy decision by government to strengthen payroll control and to eliminate payroll fraud. And accordingly the Auditor General has the mandate of government to audit all new appointments that have been cleared in order that government will satisfy itself that the particular employer has reported to post.
"And he submitted a list of 14,000 teachers which has to go through a validation exercise," he explained.
And since the validation of the exercise, government has since paid 6,000 of the teachers who were cleared by the Auditor General," the Minister added.
He further said that the outstanding 8,000 are still under scrutiny due to some irregularities in the forms presented.
The Labour Minister however condemned arguments raised by NAGRAT that the Minister of Education has failed to come out with effective policies to address their concerns and welfare needs.
"To say she has done virtually nothing is not a matter they can win in any objective court," Haruna Iddrisu added.
