A Parliamentary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Carlos Ahenkorah has been disqualified after vetting.

Mr. Ahenkorah was seeking to contest the Tema West constituency seat on the ticket of the NPP to unseat incumbent MP, Irene Naa Torshie Addo.

In a telephone interview with Pulse.com.gh, he confirmed that he was disqualified.

The aspirant, according to reports was said to have failed to nurture the constituency including failing to participate in constituency activities for the past four years.

Eleven out of the fifteen constituency executives, also wrote petitions against him.

Mr. Ahenkorah has written to the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NPP, Ishmael Ashittey to seek redress, but he has been directed to the national headquarters in Accra.

He, however, urged his supporters to be calm and wait for the final decision from the leaders of the NPP.
