Chelsea wins Barclays premier league

Loic Remy helped himself to a double in Chelsea 's 3-1 win over Sunderland, a match that saw Didier Drogba carried off the pitch like a departing king by his companions.

In a match with little or nothing at stake, Dick Advocaat's Sunderland - safe from relegation after their 0-0 draw at Arsenal on Wednesday - moved ahead when Steven Fletcher headed into the net from Adam Johnson's corner on 26 minutes.

Drogba was carried off the park by his Chelsea team-mates on 29 minutes in his farewell appearance for the club before his replacement Diego Costa tucked a penalty into the net on 37 minutes after John O' Shea had fouled Juan Cuadrado.

Jose Mourinho's side stepped it up in the second period and showed why they are the only side in England's top four divisions not to lose a home league match this season with Remy - a substitute for the injured Cuadrado on 43 minutes - netting twice on 70 and 88 minutes to secure the win before they were presented with the Premier League trophy.
