Ghana Army launches magazine on its activities

The magazine which consists of 98 pages with six columns captures health, military history, peace and security, peacekeeping and international diplomacy amongst others.

This magazine seeks to educate, inform, entertain and has articles on some activities of the army towards the development of the nation.

The theme for the event: “Excellence in Knowledge, Integrity and Discipline”.

Major General Richard Kwame Opoku-Adusei, Chief of Army Staff, said ‘The Soldier’ has come at an opportune time to enable interested persons to research into the activities of the Army.

He said this will serve as a medium of telling the past, present and future occurrence of the Ghana Army, adding that ‘The Soldier’ will expose the missing records on the activities and roles of the Army to both civilian and military.

He appealed to all to write articles that are of national interest for publication, adding that this will not only serve the intellectual needs of civilians but also inform them on the activities of the Army.

Mr Fritz Baffour, Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Interior, congratulated the Army for the magazine saying this would tell its own story to the Ghanaian populace and urged all to write articles to support and ensure the magazine grows.
