The office of the president has denied recent media publications that suggested that some members of President Mahama’s family had been involved in a motor accident.

A release by the presidency via its official Facebook page on Friday stated that the story which has been widely published on various media platforms was untrue and that the family of the president were not on the journey to the Central Region.

“The President’s family was neither in the convoy to Otuam nor in any other convoy. President Mahama inaugurated the first Community Day SHS at Otuam and also launched the progressively free SHS programme on Thursday and returned safely to Accra. No member of the President’s family was part of the delegation to the programme. The only convoy that moved to Otuam from the Flagstaff House was the President’s convoy,” the statement from the Flagstaff House Communications Bureau stated.
