New dates for the filing of nomination forms for the upcoming District Assembly Elections has been announced by the Electoral Commission.

A statement issued by the commission said “the new dates for filing of nomination for the District Assembly elections are Monday, 6 and Tuesday 7 July, 2015.”

In view of the intensive preparations for the conduct of the parliamentary by-election in the Talensi constituency, the Electoral Commission has rescheduled the dates for filing of nominations for the 2015 District Assembly and Unit Committee elections.
The new dates for filing of nomination for the District Assembly elections are Monday,6 and Tuesday 7 July, 2015.

Nomination for the Unit Committee elections will be taken on Wednesday, 8 andThursday 9 July, 2015.
Filing of nomination in the Talensi district of the Upper East region will however, take place on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 July, 2015 for the District Assembly elections; while nomination for the Unit Committee elections will take place on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 July, 2015.
Nominations will be received by the Deputy Returning Officers (Special Duties) at the respective electoral area centres from 9:00am to 12:00 noon and 2:00pm to5:00pm on the aforementioned dates.
The public is however reminded that the date for the elections remains as Tuesday, the1 Day of September, 2015.
All prospective candidates and the general public are to take note and comply with the new arrangements.
