Residents of Nsesereso and its surrounding areas in the Dorma Municipality of the Brong Ahafo region are depending on service of telecom companies in Ivory coast for calls and other inter-phone transactions.

This is because the community, which is a few kilometers from Ghana’s neighbour Ivory Coast has no reception to any of the mobile companies in Ghana.

A resident  of the community Stephen Boye has complained that call charges from the Ivorian telecom companies are too expensive.

“It's unfortunate that we are in Ghana and yet we can’t have access to our own telecom services. We have to depend on the Telcos in Ivory Coast and that is unfair because their charges are too high for us," he told Accra-based StarrFM.

According to the residents, they are charged GhC4.26 Pesewas per a minute call and Ghc1.46 pesewas per a received call.

They have therefore pleaded with the various telecommunication companies in the country to extend their services to the area.
