The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Gas Company, Dr. George Sipa Yankey has said that Ghana Gas will soon commence the construction of a new Gas plant.

Ghana Gas to build new gas plant
The project is expected to be completed in about 18 months.
The project design for the new plant has been completed awaiting the approval of the newly reconstituted Ghana Gas board.
The new board is chaired by John Amstrong Yao Kilingo, who replaces Dr. Kwasi Botchwey.
The board at its inauguration was challenged to end the country's intermittent gas shortage challenges by the Petroleum Minister Mr. Armah Kofi Buah.

The new project is expected to be completed in about 18 months.
The plant will obtain gas from the TEN field when completed and is expected to produce about 25 million standard cubic feet of gas per day when been completed.
Sipa Yankey said the construction of the new will commence once the new board approves the project, in an interview with Citi FM.

"We have already done the design concept for the new plant which has sort of been ratified but we are waiting for the new board to come to approve of it."
"It has been signed off by the engineers. once the designed concept has been approved," the construction of the new plant will start, he said.
"The second plant we are working on now is designed to have a capacity of about 250 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.
