President Mahama had accused the NPP of neglecting the region in their eight year tenure in government, pledging his commitment to the provision of infrastructural development to the region going forward.

President Kufuor maintained that president Mahama’s comments were false.

The former president mentioned the Keta Sea Defence Project as one of the main improvements the NPP government brought to the region.

“  The NPP’s achievements in the region are uncountable. A typical example is the Ho Polytechnic. Even the students of the University of Ghana were jealous at the level of infrastructural investment we made in the University.”
