Disregard Paul Afoko at EC Forum – NPP

The party in a statement said Afoko is not part of the “official list of party officials who represented the party at the ongoing public forum by the electoral commission.”

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has warned the media to disregard suspended national chairman Paul Afoko at the Electoral Commission Forum for a new voters' register.

A statement signed by deputy Communications Director Perry Okudzeto said the official list of officials are Kwabena Agyepong, Mac Manu, Martin Adjei Korsah, OB Amoah and John Boadu.

“The Directorate will also like to bring to the attention of the public that, former Chairman Mr. Paul Afoko was not part of the party’s official representatives.

“Mr Paul Afoko, Haruna Esseku, Appiah Menkah and other members were however present at the forum to offer their support.”

Paul Afoko who is serving an indefinite suspension appeared at the EC's forum and declared that he is there in his official capacity as the party’s chairman.

“I am here as the chairman of the NPP and I am here leading the team to ensure that the views of our party are heard and to ensure that we push through the reforms that we require for next year’s elections,” Afoko told the media at the event.

But the party in a statement said Afoko is not part of the “official list of party officials who represented the party at the ongoing public forum by the electoral commission.”
