The General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has asked members of his party to pray fervently for the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to enable him retrace his roots and know the party he rightly belongs to.

“Dr Bawumia may be a good person but he has unfortunately found himself in the wrong party and we should all pray for him to come back to his senses and return to his party. People may not vote for him not because of his personality but the party in which he has found himself”, he observed.

Mr Nketia made this known while addressing a huge crowd at the campaign launch of Inusah Fuseini in Tamale Central Constituency in the Northern Region on Sunday.

According to Mr Nketia, Dr Bawumia is being used by the NPP for its own selfish interests.

“...Very soon with the passage of time, he [Bawumia] will lose his tail, and the legs will start forming and he will see that the tilapia is not his brother.

“He will see that the pond is not his family pond so don’t insult Bawumia, pray for him,” General Mosquito said.

“The very NPP people he is seeking to win support for will one day turn and tell him that he is not credible and should not be trusted. I will therefore urge and reiterate that we pray for him to come back and join the party in which he was born into”, he indicated.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s father Alhaji Mumuni Bawumia was the Chairman of the Council of State from 1992 to 2000 under the NDC government.
