Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has emerged winner of the polls in the Jaman North Constituency of the Brong Ahafo Region.

The elections in that constituency were postponed by 24 hours after political party agents – the National Democratic Congress’ in particular – raised concerns with the voter register.

An emergency meeting between the parties and the District Security Council (DISEC) called for suspension of polls on election day, Wednesday, December 7.

This was contested by the Head of Communications at the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC), Eric Kofi Dzakpasu, who said the DISEC’s decision was against CI 96, the regulations guiding the elections.
