NDC won't have sleepless nights over EIU defeat report - Koku

The UK based Economist Intelligence Unit have revealed in their October 2015 report that President John Dramani Mahama will lose the 2016 elections to Nana Akuffo Addo and his NPP.

The National Democratic Congress, NDC has said it is unfazed over the Economist Intelligence Unit prediction of the party's defeat in the 2016 elections.

According to the EIU, key intelligence analysis points to a victory for the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, citing little time for President Mahama and the NDC to turn the economy around before the elections.

But, the deputy general secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho has told Accra-based Joy Fm that the party will surmount all the setbacks mentioned in the report in order to win the upcoming 2016 elections.

"Nobody is running away from the fact that there are challenges. The president hasn't run away from that fact. To predict that the NPP is going to win the 2016 elections...I think the EIU would have to do another study. I mean go around the country and see the extent to whic development is reaching every nook and cranny," he said.

Koku added that"If the EIU says NPP is going to win; fine. In fact, we have never been complacent; the commotion going on in the NPP is not what we are focused on. We are still focused on our better Ghana Agenda. 2016 will come and Ghanaians will make their decision in December. The EIU report is not going to give us any sleepless nights at all."
