The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Council of Elders, C.K. Tedam has said the party’s decision to suspend its National Chairman, Paul Afoko, was borne out of the arrogance portrayed by him in running the affairs of the party.

According to C.K. Tedam, Paul Afoko was acting against the interest of the party, hence his suspension.
Addressing some selected journalists at his residence in Accra, the chairman of the NPPs council of elders argued that Afoko showed a lot of arrogance in his approach to matters and accused him of falsely and deceitfully ignoring every invitation by both the council of elders and the disciplinary committee to amicably settle all charges and grievances against him.

Tedam further said Afoko's failure to call for NEC meetings among others were the reasons behind his suspension.Explaining the decision of party executives not to attend meetings at Afoko's private office, Mr Tedam stated that the presence of military personnel at Afokos office is intimidating, hence their decision.
C.K. Tedam added that ever since Paul Afoko “took power, he is not been going to the party office. He said he is afraid of his own shadow. We have done everything possible and the Disciplinary Committee also did all that they could with our support to bring him for discussions and he himself did not corporate at all.”NPP’s National Executive Committee on Friday, unanimously voted to suspend Paul Afoko indefinitely following a petition of misconduct against him by the party’s council of elders.
