PNC to establish a media house - Mornah

Bernard Mornah said major political parties in the country have established media houses; therefore, it is time for the PNC to do same.

The People’s National Convention (PNC) has announced plans to set up a media house to push forward its agenda.

The party’s General Secretary, Bernard Mornah said major political parties in the country have established media houses; therefore, it is time for the PNC to do same.

Speaking on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji programme on Saturday, Mornah who is aspiring to become the National Chairman of the PNC said such a move is crucial.

“It appears that political parties have newspapers, they are linked by newspapers, there are newspapers that sympathize with these political parties and at the end of the day, it is these newspapers and what they capture that become the topics that we all have to discuss either on radio or on television,” he remarked.

Mr. Mornah added that “it will be important for the PNC to identify friends in the media who can write for us and above all, set up our own media house whether it’s a newspaper or in any other form so that our views can also be heard.”

He was convinced that a media house linked to the PNC will help the party to become “prominent, relevant in the social and political discussions and above all, the party will become acceptable.”

The PNC General Secretary argued that it is high time issues concerning the PNC get the needed public attention because they have a lot to offer the people of Ghana.

“It is important so that things that are happening in any part of this country concerning the PNC will also find expressions for the people of Ghana to decipher whether those ideas are the things that will lead our nation on or not.”

He however indicated that this move has been widely accepted by the rank and file of the party and preparations will soon begin.
