The older the wine, the better the taste- ET Mensah tells haters

"When whisky or brandy stays in the bottle for a long time that is when you have quality."

Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Enoch Teye Mensah has denied news that he is no longer contesting the Ningo Prampram seat.

"I am going to seek reelection for the Ningo-Prampram constituency seat I have not spoken anyway that I am not running. If I am going to hand over to anybody it will be to one of us who has been in the trenches  all this while  not people who are just coming and our rushing." He said on Citi Fm.

ET Mensah is one of the few members of parliaments who are jokingly called the "Mugabes of Parliament", referring to the long years they have been in parliament.

ET has been in parliament since 1996. He was a former Youth and Sports minister under the Rawlings administration. He also served in the Late President Mills' administration as Water Resources Works and Housing minister.

After 19 years in parliament ET Mensah believes he still has more to offer.

"When whisky or brandy stays in the bottle for a long time that is when you have quality." He said, downplaying views that he has been in parliament for too long and has nothing new to offer.

He indicated that he is not afraid of contest. Since 1996 ET Mensah has gone through and NDC primaries unopposed on just one occasion.

"If anybody wants to contest they have the right to contest," he said "all the other times, people came and contested me and I defeated them."

He is being challenged currently by his former personal assistant Sam Dzata George. The NDC has opened nominations for both presidential and parliamentary primaries which comes off on November 07, 2015
