The Member of Parliament for Okaikoi South Constituency, Ahmed Arthur has been retained as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant after Sunday’s primaries.

Ahmed polled 505 votes while his opponent, Vicky Bright polled 29 out of the 540 total votes cast.

Earlier, NPP parliamentary aspirant for Okaikoi South Vicky Bright has left the race.

She said her decision is informed by the fraudulent nature of the contest.

Bright, however, accused her main contender Ahmed Arthur of certificate-cheating.

Her petition to party executives to disqualify Arthur over the certificate impasse failed.

Addressing a news conference in Accra Saturday, the former legal advisor to former President John Kufuor said she cannot be part of a fraudulent contest.

Meanwhile, in the Korle Klottey Constituency, Philip Addison and Nii Adjei have boycotted primaries in the area.
