PPP presidential nominee gives details of how he will address unemployment in Ghana

Dr Nduom was reacting to the 2015 survey report by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) which indicated that Ghanaians wanted the government to tackle unemployment first, followed by poverty and then erratic power supply (dumsor).

According to the PPP leader, he is the best person for the job if Ghanaians want the unemployment canker to go away.

Speaking at the campaign launch of the PPP’s Gomoa West parliamentary candidate, Charles Kofi Yawson, he intimated that a PPP government will solve Ghana's unemployment problem.

“As I stand here today Ghanaians say their main problem in this year’s election is jobs. If it is jobs you want why vote for a lawyer, if it is jobs you need why vote for a communicator who can’t provide you jobs but promises?’’

He added that he would not make promises he cannot fulfil but rather allow his track record to speak for him. “I am not going to stand here to promise factory in every district because I have businesses already in each district throughout Ghana. I am also not going to promise one million jobs, but you standing here know I am already employing Ghanaians with my own money, imagine what I can do with the state’s finances, when I have all of the states resources backing me?” he quizzed.

The party’s parliamentary nominee for the Gomoa West constituency Charles Kofi Yawson called on the electorates of the area to vote massively for him and Nduom during the general elections. He promised that he would help establish poultry farms to reduce unemployment in the area, if he is elected Member of Parliament.

Meanwhile the Tufuhene of Gomoa Eshiem, Nana Asam entreated the residents in the area to support Dr Nduom and Charles Kofi Yawson. He said he was hopeful they would bring development to the people of Ghana.

“If you look at the PPP they are an orderly and well-planned party. I have every believe that when the PPP is voted into power, they will transform the country, seeing what he has been able to do with his bank {GN Bank} is ample evidence of his abilities,’’ Nana Asam said.
