Political Attacks NPP leaders betrayed us - NPP youth

Some supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are not happy with the NPP government for what they say is a total betrayal and breach of trust.

Supporters of the two main political parties, National Democratic Congress (NDC) and New Patriotuc Party (NPP), have been involved another violent attack at Alaba at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The two parties clashed claiming ownership of who owns the Alaba bus station.

Some supporters of the NPP, according to reports were wielding offensive weapons, stormed the lorry station to take over the management of the facility in light of the victory of their party in the 2016 presidential elections, only to be met with fierce opposition from some armed supporters of the opposition.

One of the supporters of the NPP said when the NDC was in power, both the NDC and NPP never fought over the ownership of the the bus terminal but with the return of the NPP to power, they expected that those put in charge of the station during the last administration would have to give way.

One of the suspect called Issahaku Hamdaway who spent six days in police custody in an interview with Accra FM said he has been betrayed and neglected by the regional leadership of the NPP.

He said "During 2008 to 2012, there was no power sharing. Why is it that today there should be power sharing? They want something to happen before they [would say].

"You people didn’t try, you should have waited. No. So we will advise ourselves. If the leaders, the elders, executives of NPP cannot say anything about this…we the youth of NPP will advise ourselves."
