Sunyani chief assures Mahama of 80% more votes

According to him, the region is solidly behind president John Mahama and does not need to worry about support for his presidential bid in his region.

The Omanhene of the Sunyani Traditional Area, Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II, has assured the governing National Democratic Congress of 80 percent of votes in the 2016 elections.

The chief made these comments when the president paid a courtesy call on him in the region, Tuesday.

Nana Bosoma expressed disappointment as to why other regions are promising 50 per cent more votes for the NDC.

He believed the government deserved between 70 to 80 per cent of votes given what the government has done for his region.

The Omanhene further believed criticisms of the Mahama administration for borrowing too much are unjustified.

According to him, the government must be commended because there was clear evidence that loans contracted by the government were being used judiciously.

Nana Nkrawiri commended the President for working very hard to ensure the development of Sunyani, noting that the Sunyani Ring Road currently under construction was an example of the development taking place in Sunyani.

President Mahama expressed his appreciation to the Omanhene and other chiefs in the area for the support they continued to give him as he worked to ensure fair distribution of development projects in every corner of the country.
