Black Stars captain bemoans poor state of pitches in Ghana

Ghana captain unhappy with bad pitches across the country.

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has expressed his worry regarding the poor state of pitches in Ghana but has lauded the work of the media in hyping the Ghana Premier League.

Despite the recent overwhelming patronized of the domestic top-flight championship, football pundits have had something to complain of as some playing fields in the Premier League are not of good standard.

Shanghai SIPG hit-man, Asamoah Gyan who is currently in Ghana was at the Carl Reindoff Park on Monday to watch his former side Liberty Professionals beat New Edubiase 2-0 opened up to the media with respect to the state of pitches in the country.

“The only thing that I can complain of in the Premier League are the pitches, the field condition is very bad. I’m also in the same game so that is what I have seen,” Gyan told the media.

“But with the hype of everything, Ghana Premier League is on ascendency. First we couldn’t follow for the league but now we can follow the league due to the good work being done by the media. I arrived in Ghana and I’m doing the same thing,” he added.

The first round of the Ghana Premier League is expected to come to an end this Sunday.
