Ghanaian defender debuts for Schalke in the Bundesliga from the bench

Abdul Baba Rahman made his German Bundesliga debut for Schalke 04 on Saturday against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Rahman who enjoyed a start in Schalke’s German Cup game last week was handed a bench role for the game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

The Ghana international was however introduced in the 63nd minute replacing Saed Kolasinac for Schalke 04.

Schalke 04 lost their first league game of the season in the Bundesliga with Alexander Meier scoring the only goal of the game for Frankfurt after just 13 minutes of play.

The scorer also missed a penalty for the  home team in the second half of the game with Michael Hector getting a red card as Eintracht Frankfurt played the last ten minutes of regular time with ten men.

Baba Rahman joined Schalke 04 on a season-long loan deal from English Premier League club Chelsea. The former Asante Kotoko player transferred to the Stamford Bridge outfit at the start of last season from German club Augsburg.
