Ghana boxing mourns late Coach Alloway

A complete boxing gem, guru and a walking library is gone... the man who worked with Azumah Nelson, Nana Yaw Konadu, Joshua Clottey, Joseph Agbeko, Bukom Banku

A huge tree has fallen within the boxing fraternity in Ghana.He was one of  the finest boxing trainer Ghana has ever produced after Attuquaye Clotey of blessed memory and others.

He kicked the bucket on Friday after he battled with some illness, the family though only announced the bereavement on Saturday evening due to a wedding in the morning.

Coach Alloway as he was popularly called, was a gift to Ghana boxing with a great sense of dedication to the development of boxing especially the capacity of boxers.

His personality represented respectability, discipline, dedication, cool-head, love, tolerance and many many other attributes.

He brought into the limelight boxers like Bukom Banku, Joshua Clotey, Joseph Agbeko, Ayitey Powers, Joshua Okine, George Ashie, Philip Kotey, Latei Lartey to mention but a few.

"The late Coach Alloway also helped in grooming boxing trainers who are currently spread across our boxing gyms.He aided me immensely in my role as boxing commentator, analyst  and Ring Announcer," said renowned boxing journalist Mohammed Amin Lamptey."A complete boxing gem, guru and a walking library is gone. ...."A big loss for Ghana, Africa, boxers, the GBA, Trainers and what have you."The late Coach Alloway was also the President of the  Boxing Trainers Association of Ghana and the former technical director of the GBA under the administration of Samir Captan.May his soul rest in a perfect peace....
