Avram Grant shortlisted for USA vacancy

Avram Grant is among the two managers shortlisted for the USA men's national team job.

Grant is currently employed with the Ghana Football Association but with his contract running out in a few months and approval ratings at rock bottom, it is expected he will not renew his contract with the Black Stars of Ghana.

Grant is no stranger to the USA federation after carrying out coaching seminars in the country for years and is well thought of by senior members of the federation though Bruce Arena may be a favourite to be named coach due to his instant availability.

Despite taking Ghana to the finals of the AFCON within a few weeks of his appointment, Grant is winless in five games as coach of Ghana and has been embroiled in a cold war with senior management of the Ghana Football Association over his preference for staying in Europe.
