Ghana should find Asamoah Gyan's successor- Stephen Appiah

Asamoah Gyan, 31 is the all-time top scorer for the senior national male football team of Ghana with 50 goals.

Gyan made history last two weeks when he scored his 50th goal in international football for Ghana when the Black Stars hammered Ethiopia 5-0.

Stephen Appiah who played with Asamoah Gyan in the same Black Stars team as skipper, though believes the former Sunderland hitman's feat is monumental has advised the nation to hunt for some one to succeed him because he is in the twilight of his career.

“Gyan is an excellent player, he is a great player, scoring 50 goals for the national team is not easy,” he said on GHone TV.

“You know he can’t play forever and he is at his peak now, even though he is still our top scorer and he is still scoring.

“It is very important that at this point we get someone who can succeed him and so we can count on the person anytime Gyan is not around.”

Gyan made his Black Stars debut in 2003 against Somalia.
