'Kwasi Appiah's tactics vs Congo was wrong' - Laryea Kingston

The former Black Stars midfielder Laryea Kingston stated that manager Kwesi Appiah did not get his tactics right.

Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston has come out and spoken about the state of the struggling Ghana national team.

After being held to a draw by Congo in their home stadium, the former Black Stars midfielder Laryea Kingston stated that manager Kwesi Appiah did not get his tactics right.

However, he went on to add that the coach should be given time to continue building his team.

“For me I think the coach is building a team, and we already have experienced players around, so that they can gel with new ones who can fit into his system,” Kingston said on GHONE TV.

“For me I think his tactics didn’t help him against Congo, but for me he is building his team and they should give him sometime to do that.”

Other Ghanaian figures such as fellow ex-internatianal Sam Johnson and even Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan have expressed how unlikely it is that Ghana will now qualify to the 2018 World Cup.

Ghana’s next qualifier is against Congo once again on 5 September.
