Godwin Attram: I have resigned as assistant coach of Olympics but...

Godwin Attram has revealed that he has quit Accra Gt. Olympics as the assistant coach, but the management of the Wonder club are unwilling to let him leave the outfit of the two times champions of Ghana.

The former Black Stars attacker acted as the player coach of Accra Gt. Olympics in the early stage of this season after guiding them to secure promotion back to the Ghana Premier League.

However, he was demoted to assistant coaching role to pave way for Tom Strand to take over the club as the head coach, following a poor start to the season and Attram who was not pleased with the decision of the management of the team took away a section of the playing body which he claimed he has their economic right.

Godwin Attram was however persuaded to work under Tom Strand as assistant coach and that combination appeared good, following thrilling performances at home including a 2-0 win over Asante Kotoko.

He, however, has made another pronouncement that he has resigned from the club and it is the hierarchy of the 'Dade boys' who are hesitant to accept it to enable him move on.

And speaking to sportsobama.com, Attram disclosed that he has forwarded his resignation letter to the club's hierarchy but they are refusing to accept his decision.

“I sent my resignation letter to the board but they didn’t collect it," he told Sportsobama.com

“And the president told me that he’s traveling so when he comes back he will have a meeting with me,” he added

Olympics are 15th on the log with just 19 points in 19 games.

They will visit Aduana Stars on match day 20 at Dormaa on Wednesday.
