I am still manager of George Ashie – Teddy Moore

There is dispute over the group who owns the commercial right of Ghanaian boxer, George Ashie.

Abraham Reindorf, CEO Of Accra based Reinsport Management says he is still in charge as manager of top Ghanaian Lightweight boxer, George Ashie (26-4-1, 19 KOs) and has challenged anyone claiming contrary to bring documents to prove otherwise.

Reindorf AKA Teddy Moore sealed a 3-year management deal with the former Commonwealth Lightweight champion back in January 2015 after a short signing-on ceremony at Asia Gardens Restaurant in Dansoman, Accra.

But Classic Vision Sports Promotions and Management led by Alhaji Zaid and Ahmed Apedo alias Pasaasa, one-time managers of Ashie lodged a complaint with the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) seeking an annulment of any such deal because they still maintained the management rights of the boxer.

Reindorf however refused to budge and challenged Classic Vision to show any contractual agreement with the boxer which they failed at an arbitration for the two parties sanctioned by the Ghana Boxing Authority. Despite the event, Reindorf says rumours persist that Classic Vision still claim ownership of the highly rated boxer.

He also says he recently heard another top boxing promoter in this country (name withheld) say on Accra based radio station, Radio Gold that he has paid off both warring managers of Ashie and is now managing the boxer.

Hence the decision of the businessman with boxing at heart to set the records straight.

“I want to on go record and state categorically that I am still the manager of George Ashie and I’ve not signed him off to anyone else or received any money from anyone,” Abraham Reindorf said in a statement.

“I have a valid contract with the boxer, and we are focused on taking his career to the next level so anybody who says he is their boxer should bring their contract with the fighter and let’s see,” he continued.

Teddy Moore added: “I challenge the GBA, Classic Vision and anyone else who claim they have signed the boxer to go to court because I have a legal contract with him, and no one can challenge that.”
