Isaac Dogboe's father jabs Richard Commey's trainer

The father of Isaac Dogboe wants Richard Commey to replace his trainer

According to Paul, Commey is a good boxer but his cornermen led by Lokko are not helping him technically so he must replace them with a proper technical trainer.

“Richard Commey is so humble and so strong but technically he should have won his first fight, the world title bout. He should have won it clearly, the second one too he should have won it clearly,” Paul told the press at the Kotoka International Airport after arriving with his son Isaac Dogboe from U.K on Thursday.

“Richard is strong so if a boxer is strong and his technical ability is lacking he has to change his corner.I say things as it is. He should change his corner and get a world class trainer from Las Vegas and then he would become a world champion.”

He continued: “The guy is strong so why is he not winning, why is he not a world champion, the guy has got everything. He can stand there when he goes down he gets backup. In boxing it is not everybody that has the jaw that can go down and get backup but Richard Commey has that. If he is not winning he should change his corner, if my son is not winning I will change myself and put somebody else there. So he has to change his corner I’m not saying he should change his management because his management have done a hell of a job, he  should change his corner. Ike Quartey fought properly against Oscar De La Hoya and when you watch that corner it was a technical corner.

“When Isaac [Dogboe] fought George Krampah all I was hearing from Krampah’s corner wasn’t a good technical instructions and it was Richard Commey’s coach that was also in that corner, that really hurt me when I see Richard Commey not doing well, it really hurt me. I believe that he is the one that can also be alongside Isaac and go get the world title,” he concluded.

Last September Commey had his first shot at the world title (vacant IBF lightweight belt) but he couldn’t clinch it after losing via a split decision to America’s Robert Easter Jr.

Commey had another opportunity to get another shot at the world title, but he lost the IBF final eliminator bout to Russia’s Denis Shafikov.
