Tyson Fury has sparked fresh controversy after a video surfaced of him making seemingly sexist remarks prior to his fight with Wladimir Klitschko.

World heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has sparked fresh controversy after a video surfaced of him making a string of seemingly sexist remarks prior to his fight with Wladimir Klitschko.

Fury claimed a stunning win over Klitschko last Saturday to win the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO heavyweight championships via unanimous decision.

However, the praise Fury has received for his performance has been overshadowed by the storm created by his apparent homophobic comments in an interview with a British newspaper.

Fury was reported as saying: "There are only three things that need to be accomplished before the devil comes home: one of them is homosexuality being legal in countries, one of them is abortion and the other one's paedophilia. Who would have thought in the 50s and 60s that those first two would be legalised?"

The 27-year-old insisted he was misquoted, but The Daily Mail published a transcript of the interview on Thursday.

And a video for IFLTV has emerged on YouTube in which Fury appears to threaten to have journalist Oliver Holt, who interviewed him, beaten up by a member of his entourage and makes a number of comments relating to women in sport.

Asked about women in boxing, Fury said: "Women in boxing, I think they're very nice when they're walking around that ring, holding them cards. So I think women in boxing is very good.

"I'm all for it [women boxers]. I'm not sexist. I believe a woman's best place is in the kitchen and on her back. That's my personal belief. Making me a good cup of tea, that's what I believe"

On UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, he added: "What do I think of her? She's quite hot."

Fury was also asked about Olympic champion heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill, replying: "That's the runner isn't it? I think she's good, she's won quite a few medals for Great Britain.

"She slaps up good as well, when she's got her dress on she looks quite fit."

Fury was listed as one of the candidates for the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year award following his win in Germany.

More than 400,000 people have signed a petition calling for his name to be removed from the shortlist for the honour and Fury posted on Twitter on Friday: "Hopefully I don't win @BBCSPOTY as I'm not the best roll [sic] model in the world for the kids, give it to someone who would appreciate it."
