Meanwhile, the goalkeeper has apologized, saying he found himself in an “uncomfortable position” and made “an error in judgment”.

Max Crocombe said on his Twitter page that “My intention was never to offend anyone and I’d like to apologise to both clubs and sets of supporters.”

According to the BBC, the incident was formally reported to the police after a spectator made a formal complaint to the stadium authorities.

Colin Barker explained that “He went to the side of the stand as I understand it. I didn’t actually see it, but the referee definitely sent him off for it because he was alerted to it by his linesman.”

Earlier, Park Avenue wrote in a Twitter post that “We can confirm that Crocombe has been sent off for urinating during the game. We are not joking.”

Crocombe’s team, Salford seemed to be uncomfortable with the action taken against their goalkeeper, as it twitted, “Red Card! Crocombe sees red for something off the ball. No one has a clue what has happened.”
