Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso could be headed for a return to Las Palmas this summer.

The 26-year-old joined Panathinaikos on a three-year deal from Russian club Rubin Kazan in summer last year, scoring on his league debut - a 3-0 away win over Levadiakos.

Wakaso marked a return to La Liga in January after joining Granada on loan following earlier stints with Las Palmas, Villarreal and Espanyol, having also played for lower division club Elche between 2008 and 2011.

And reports emanating from Spain suggest that the energetic Ghanaian midfielder could be on his way back to Las Palmas in the summer.

His fellow Ghana international Kevin Prince Boateng has just signed a three year deal with the club and would welcome Wakaso with whom he shares the same agent with.

Wakaso was also once on the books of Scottish giants Celtic and AshantiGold in Ghana.
