Ace journalist’s body arrives in Ghana for burial on Saturday

Sports journalist Christopher Opoku died in May after more than four years battle with cancer.

The ace journalist gave up the ghost while he was in the UK, following a long-time battle with cancer.

Before his demise, he had worked for over 15 years in the media landscape, in a career which saw him work at Asempa FM, Citi FM and Luv FM among other reputable media houses.

Christopher Opoku’s funeral arrangements are already underway, with his burial reportedly slated for July 15.

Sources close to the late broadcaster have revealed that his body was flown into the country on Sunday, July 9.

His body arrived at the Kotoka International Airport at around 7:30 pm and was received by some media colleagues, as well as family and friends.

Christopher Opoku left behind a wife and three children. His dedication and effort in the media domain was largely appreciated by all, with his output earning him the Best Football Commentator and Best Football Journalist (PLB) accolades in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
