Amartey has been selected to start alongside Jonathan Mensah who makes a comeback into the starting XI after missing out in the first group game against Uganda in Tamale last two months.
Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has also been rewarded with a starting berth following his good display for Udinese, ahead of Afriyie Acquah in the central midfield role.
West Ham forward Andre Ayew, who also missed the game against Uganda, meanwhile, is starting as a supportive striker to his younger brother Jordan Ayew.
Ghana will go into the game missing the services of Asamoah Gyan and Juventus playmaker Kwadwo Asamoah due to respective injuries – depriving their potent attack of much-needed strength.
Below is the Ghana line up:
Razak Brimah; Harrison Afful, Baba Rahman, Daniel Amartey, Jonathen Mensah; Mubarak Wakaso, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu Thomas Partey; Jordan Ayew , Andre Ayew, Christian Atsu.
