Manchester United defender hopes to return in two months

Eric Bailly hopes to return to action for Manchester United within two months after suffering a knee injury during Sunday's defeat to Chelsea.

The centre-back sustained a suspected knee ligament injury during the first half of the 4-0 drubbing at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

After the game, manager Jose Mourinho said he was "afraid" it was "a bad injury."

And Bailly, who joined United for £30m from Villarreal in the summer, took to social media to thank fans for their concern and update them with a time-frame for a return.

"I hope to be able to play again for United and The Elephants before two months," Bailly said on social media.

Bailly had played every minute in the league for United before Sunday's match at Stamford Bridge.

The centre-back signed from Spanish side Villarreal for about £30m in the summer.
