The West Ham United attacking midfielder is living his dreaming of emulating the footsteps of his father as a great footballer, having played for clubs like Marseille, Swansea City and currently with West Ham United.

Abedi Pele who won the African Footballer of the year for three consecutive occasions has been mentoring his sons Rahim Ayew, Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew who took after him as footballers.

Andre Ayew has sitting behind his TV sets or PC to watch highlights of his father has been a huge boost to his football carer.

“So many players have inspired me, but my Dad (Abedi Pele) inspired me a lot, I watched lots of his games and clips. And Ghana had lots of good players which includes Stephen Appiah, Micheal Essien and Sulley Muntari, and these are players grow up looking at them playing. But on the international scene there are a lot of African players

who have made it put the flag of Africa high,” Ayew said.

He added: “But I like to always look at what Ghanaians have done and I think when I started to play, players which include Stephen Appiah, Micheal Essien and Sulley Muntari, John Mensah and Hans Adu Sarpei does were the people I looked up and there are no in the Black Stars but are behind us and supporting us,” Ayew said.
