Black Princesses suffer 0-1 defeat against New Zealand

Christensen’s 88 minute goal handed Ghana a 0-1 defeat against their New Zealand counterparts in their opening FIFA U-20 Women’s World on Monday.

Ghana created several goal scoring opportunities in the game but failed to translate them into goals: Jane Ayiyam in the first half missed from close range, while Diwura-Soare wasted Ghana’s best chance in the second half after New Zealand gave away a ball in their own half and after Soare had beat a defender, he finally hit the ball into the onrushing goalkeeper to give New Zealand a sigh of relief.

In the late minute the ball fell the way of Sachet, after a defensive blunder had been committed by Adu Agyemang, yet she shot the ball wide.

Christensen in the 88 minute was fetched with a ball and she beat two Ghanaians in a solo manner and dribbled the goalkeeper before slotting in the ball in the 88th minute to win the day for New Zealand.
